Man of the Match: Forward Kyle Coffee came on to the pitch as a substitution during the half time break, and made a definite impact in the turn of the game. His dangerous attacking runs forced SAFC to concede a penalty, and his one shot on goal was the one that mattered as he converted the headed effort to tuck away the game-winning goal.

Telling Stat: 22. Despite down two goals early in the first half, Real Monarchs SLC once again displayed its fighting spirit by providing an onslaught of chances towards goal, with 22 shots taken throughout the night. The creative passing in the attacking third provided the Monarchs with an ample amount of opportunity, forcing SAFC’s Matthew Cardone to come up big more than once in attempts to make the save.

What You Missed: Real Monarchs SLC triumphed over San Antonio FC for the first time since 2016, putting away three goals without reply in the second half to walk away with the three points. MFs Jack Blake and Maikel Chang each added to their accounts, converting two penalties in the second half to level out the scoring while FW Kyle Coffee earned his first professional goal off a headed effort to secure the win at Zions Bank Stadium. GK Evan Finney made his professional debut, making an appearance in the Starting XI and playing the full 90 minutes to secure the Monarchs goal.

So What: With its victory over SAFC, the Monarchs remain undefeated at home in 2019, moving to a home record of 3-0-1. The three points gives the Utah club 11 points total on the league table, moving it up to the 4th spot in the Western Conference. The Monarchs now turn its attention back onto the road as it heads to Austin, Texas for the first time to play another 2019 expansion team, Austin Bold FC.
