Man of the Match: Forward Justin Meram turned in a gritty performance off the bench, providing Real Salt Lake with their best opportunities of the night. In the 73rd minute, Meram crossed the ball in towards forward Anderson Julio whose goal-bound header was smothered by the LAFC goalkeeper. Just three minutes later Meram nearly connected on a header from defender Marcelo Silva but was beaten to the ball by the goalkeeper.

Telling Stat: In the Club’s 2-0 defeat to LAFC, Real Salt Lake started its 25th different player in the 2022 campaign as Bryan Oviedo made his first RSL start. Additionally, the Claret-and-Cobalt have fielded 30 different players this season as Braian Ojeda made his MLS debut in the 69th minute as a second-half substitute for Scott Caldwell.

Costa Rican defender Bryan Oviedo made his first Major League Soccer and RSL start, while Braian Ojeda made his MLS debut in the away defeat.
