HERRIMAN, Utah (Mon., Oct. 19, 2026) - Real Salt Lake’s rookie Sergi Solans and U22 wingback Dominik Marczuk were recognized as two of MLSsoccer.com’s Matchday 32 Best XI honorees, Solan's fourth and Marczuk’s first of the season.
In a must-win match hosting recently minted U.S. Open Cup champions St. Louis CITY SC, the Claret-and-Cobalt duo combined for all three goals in a dominant 3-0 showing, two from Spanish native Solans.
Logging his third brace of his first professional campaign, Solans continues to strengthen his resume for 2026 MLS Newcomer of the Year. Finding the net in the 41st and 59th minutes, Solans surpassed Duncan McGuire (13, 2023) to become second in goals scored by a MLS SuperDraft selection’s rookie year, only trailing Cyle Larin (17, 2015).
Marczuk found his goal seven minutes after returning from the break, firing from distance, a missile finding the upper right corner leaving STL ‘keeper Lundt no chance. The goal marks Marcuk’s second of the year, with the strike nominated for Goal of the Matchday, voting is available now via X.
Real Salt Lake’s playoff push continues this Wednesday, October 28, when Real Salt Lake travels to Austin FC at Q2 Stadium prior to facing San Jose Earthquake on October 31st to close out its three-match week.
