Man of the Match: Winger Justin Meram stepped onto the pitch for the injured Anderson Julio in the 15th minute and provided the offensive spark needed to secure the point at home. Meram netted his 51st goal in Major League Soccer history, while also providing the initial pass which led to Jefferson Savarino's opening goal in the third minute of first half stoppage time.

Telling Stat: With tonight’s draw, Real Salt Lake now holds the second-best home record in the Western Conference and fourth overall in the league, earning 21 points at Rio Tinto Stadium thus far. Charlotte FC, Los Angeles FC and New York City FC are the only clubs who have earned more points at home, however they have all played 11 home matches in comparison to RSL’s nine matches at the RioT. The team’s 6-0-3 home record to start the season is Real Salt Lake’s best home start in Club history.

What You Missed: Facing one of the Club’s longest standing rivals, Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids played to a 2-2 draw in front of a ninth consecutive sellout crowd, retaining the Rocky Mountain Cup for the second year in a row and 13th year overall. Wingers Jefferson Savarino and Justin Meram each netted their third goals of the season, while midfielder Pablo Ruiz secured his fifth assist of the year. With Savarino’s first-half goal, RSL is now undefeated in 15 consecutive matches when leading at the halftime break, dating back to May 8, 2021.

What’s Next: Real Salt Lake will now travel east to take on Eastern Conference foe Atlanta United FC on Wednesday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m. MT in the Club’s first midweek match of the 2022 season.
