The U.S. National Team played its first competitive match since Nov. 19, 2019 on Thursday evening, and while a young lineup from Head Coach Gregg Berhalter struggled to find a rhythm throughout the match, a diving header from Jordan Siebatcheu proved to be the difference in a 1-0 win over Honduras in the Nations League semifinals.

The U.S. will advance to face Mexico in the Nations League final on Sunday after Mexico bested Costa Rica in a penalty kick shootout in the second match at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

The U.S. roster featured the likes of Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, Sergiño Dest and Zach Steffen, among others, as Berhalter looks to build some momentum heading into the Gold Cup and World Cup Qualifying later this year.  With so many young players on the roster coming off of heavily-loaded seasons in Europe, there is plenty of promise in the group as the U.S. readies for the final on Sunday before heading to Salt Lake City for a friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Real Salt Lake goalkeeper David Ochoa was on the bench for the U.S. for the first time in a competitive match and watched Steffen make three saves en route to victory.

The U.S. will face Mexico on Sunday in the tournament final, kicking off at 7 p.m. MT from Empower Field at Mile High, with live television coverage on the CBS Sports Network.
