Utah Royals FC DF Gaby Vincent Named to U-23 USWNT for 2019 Nordic Tournament

SANDY, Utah – (Wednesday, August 21, 2019) – Utah Royals FC DF Gaby Vincent has been named to the U-23 United States Women’s National Team for the 2019 U-23 Nordic Tournament in by Head Coach B.J. Snow. 
Vincent is one of 16 players from the National Women’s Soccer League and the only selected from the Utah Royals FC roster. 
“We could not be more proud of Gaby,” General Manager Stephanie Lee said. “She has adjusted to the life of a pro with confidence and composure, and we are sure this is just the beginning of a great career for her.”
The call-up marks the first time Vincent has been invited to train with any of the programs in the United States Youth National Team system. 
Prior to joining Utah Royals FC Vincent spent four years at the University of Louisville where she made 54 appearances and recorded six goals and three assists. 
After going undrafted in the 2019 NWSL College Draft Vincent was invited to the Utah Royals FC open tryouts and after impressing Head Coach Laura Harvey and her technical staff Vincent was extended an offer to join preseason as a trialist. 
Vincent continued to impress, earning herself a spot on the 2019 Supplemental Roster, during which she made seven appearances and six starts at centerback. In those matches Vincent contributed to three clean sheets, in doing so she recorded 36 clearances, five blocks, nine tackles and a 84.15 percent passing rate. 
As a result of her performance Vincent was promoted to a full-team contract on July 24.
Utah Royals FC takes on the Washington Spirit tonight at Maryland SoccerPlex, kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. MT. Following the match Vincent will depart for the tournament.
