Utah Royals FC Places FW Brittany Ratcliffe on Season Ending Injury List

SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, April 16, 2019) - Utah Royals FC FW Brittany Ratcliffe has been placed on the Season Ending Injury list for the 2019 season and will have surgery in the coming days to repair a torn ACL in her left knee.

“Britt’s injury was tough for all of us.  She worked very hard to position herself as a strong competitor for this year and the gaps the World Cup creates in our roster,” Royals FC General Manager Stephanie Lee said.  “I know she’ll continue to work hard through this injury and come back strong – we look forward to that.”

Ratcliffe, 25, was a key contributor off the bench for Utah in 2018, scoring two goals in 10 appearances, including the club’s Goal of the Year on the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over the previously-unbeaten North Carolina Courage on June 16.  A product of the University of Virginia, Ratcliffe is a veteran of three NWSL seasons, playing with the Boston Breakers and FC Kansas City before landing with Utah Royals FC prior to the club’s inaugural season in 2018.

URFC opens the 2019 NWSL season on Saturday at 7 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium against the Washington Spirit.  Season tickets and single-game tickets are available at UtahRoyalsFC.com/Tickets or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
