“RSL is the face of our community to represent Utah,” Hansen said. “The most important thing we can do is bring education to these students with RSL and education tied together. The people in the community support us and we want to reciprocate that support right back to the community. These kids deserve great educations, not good, but great educations. We hope we can be part of that.”

Giving back to the Utah community is something that Hansen holds near and dear while holding education in the highest regards. Hansen pledged to give nearly 3,300 teachers a $250 grant that will help the teachers purchase necessary teaching materials in an effort to enhance each child’s learning experience. The of Scoring for Schools helps teachers in the Jordan, Canyons and Alpine school districts get the exact resources their classrooms need to bring creative learning opportunities to their students.

“Mr. Hansen has had the single greatest impact on our school,” Terra Linda Principal Karen Gorringe said. “I was watching the teachers when the announcement was made and some of them began to cry. We stretch what we have and his contribution has made such a great impact.”

In addition to the announcement of Scoring for Schools, Hansen accepted a gracious thank you and was welcomed as an Honorary Tiger as a member of the Terra Linda family for his generous contributions. The RSL Foundation, led by Mary Van Minde and Kyle Schroeder, has helped expand the Scoring for Schools program in an effort to help benefit the overall education of children in the Salt Lake Valley.
