SEATTLE (Tuesday, July 10, 2018) – Utah Royals FC (5-4-6, 21 pts., NWSL 6th place) continue its two-game Pacific Northwest road trip Wednesday night at Seattle, facing Reign FC at historic Memorial Stadium under the Space Needle tomorrow, Wednesday, July 11, at 8:30 p.m. MT. The midweek game is the first-ever away at Seattle, and the second overall duel between URFC and Head Coach Laura Harvey’s former club, with whom she won 50+ games over the previous five seasons. Wednesday’s match airs live on KMYU and ESPN700 AM while streaming digitally via the RSL on KSL app and KSL.comat 8:30 p.m. MT, with Greg Wrubell and Carla Haslam on the call.
Both Utah and Seattle are part of a five-team glut near the top of the 2018 NWSL standings, where just five points separate five teams chasing the final three postseason berths. The two clubs first played at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 27 in USWNT FW Christen Press’ debut with the gold-clad Royals, the game ending in a scoreless draw.
This game is also the second of three games in eight days, which included Utah’s most recent 4-0 loss against Portland Thorns FC at Providence Park on Friday, July 6. The Salt Lake side found themselves on the upper-hand of possession and passing but was unable to finish in the attacking third. Following Wednesday, Harvey and the crew will return to Rio Tinto Stadium to host Alwx Morgan, Marta and the Orlando Pride this Saturday, July 14 (5:00 p.m. MT kickoff, ESPNnews & ESPN700 AM) for the third game of the week. Tickets for all home games are available at www.UtahRoyalsFC.com/Tickets or by calling 844.Real.Tix.
FW Diana Matheson will be unavailable for Wednesday’s match as she sits on league suspension for a violation of “Major Game Misconduct” from her late tackle in Friday’s match at Portland.
