Sandy, Utah (Saturday August 27, 2016) – Real Monarchs and Arizona United met for the third time this season on Saturday and for the third time, the visitors returned home victorious as Maikon Orellana scored his fifth goal of the season to lift the Monarchs to their third consecutive victory, 1-0 over Arizona. By claiming all three points, the Monarchs jumped to 9-11-5, good for 10th in the Western Conference and just two points out of a playoff position. These two teams will meet again for a final match on September 17, 2016 in Arizona.

· Maikon Orellana put in the first goal of the match in the 24th minute of play. The play started back in midfield with Andrew Brody taking the ball forward and passing it in between two defenders allowing Orellana to be 1v1 with the keeper, and Orellana put it in the back of the net. Orellana has now scored in each of the last two matches, giving him five goals on the season, while Brody got his first assist on the season.
· Saturday night’s win against Arizona United makes it 3 wins in a row for the Real Monarchs, and the third shut out in a row for Lalo Fernandez. The Monarchs have 32 pts on the season, jumping to 10th in the west, with just 5 games left in the season
· Sunday Stephen played on loan from Real Salt Lake in Saturday night’s match helping the Monarchs get the win. It was his first competitive appearance since suffering facial fractures on June 22 against the New York Red Bulls. In addition, forward Pedro Baez also played his first start while on loan with the Monarchs, logging 84 minutes in the match.
