RSL-AZ Academy

The Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy has two products among the 21 players that have been called to represent the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team at the Four Nation’s Tournament in Germany.  DF Aaron Herrera and MF Evan Waldrep both earned calls and the team opened the tournament on Tuesday with an 8-1 loss against host Germany.  The tournament continues with matches against Scotland on Friday and Mexico on Monday.

Herrera has started nine matches in his freshman season at the University of New Mexico, as the Lobos have started 6-3-1.  Waldrep has one goal in three appearances in his freshman season for 11-0-0 Creighton, who is ranked No. 1 in the country.

The U-20s finished in fifth place in the Stevan Vilotic-Cele Tournament in Serbia in August.  That was the first action for the group in the new U-20 cycle.

Twenty of the players on the roster have ties to the Development Academy. Ten players on the squad play soccer at the collegiate level, while nine players compete for MLS clubs, one player for a Spanish La Liga club, one for an English Premier League team, and two for Academy teams.
