Mexico announces roster for friendly against Trinidad & Tobago

NEW YORK(August 27, 2015) – The Mexican National Team today announced its 23-man roster for the upcoming 2015 Mexican National Team U.S. Tour matches. Mexico will face Trinidad & Tobago at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah on Friday, September 4 (8:00 p.m. MT). On Tuesday, September 8 (8:00 p.m. MT), Mexico will play Argentina at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.    


Led by new interim head coach Ricardo Ferretti, Mexico’s roster includes several players who formed part of Mexico’s championship 2015 Gold Cup team such as midfielder Andrés Guardado (PSV/NED) and forward Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad/ESP). Joining them is superstar forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernández (Manchester United/ENG).        


The September matches are crucial as Mexico prepares for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup playoff match against the USA to take place on October 10 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Additionally, El Tricolor, will be preparing for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
