Salt Lake Tribune: Cassar embraces the pressure to succeed at RSL

Jeff Cassar vs San Jose 0501

The Salt Lake Tribune’s Chris Kamrani sat down with Real Salt Lake Head Coach Jeff Cassar in a wide-ranging interview about the first 19 games of the season the team’s outlook for the final 15 matches and where the club can improve during the transfer window and beyond.

In one excerpt, Cassar talks about the pressure that comes with being at a club like RSL that has known nothing but success for the last seven years.

“I do embrace it, because that's the culture of our club.  Mediocrity is not good enough here.  But I don't think we've been mediocre.  I think we've been playing well, especially doing new things, but we want to win everything, and right now we still are, we're right there for the playoffs, we're right there for Open Cup, we're set up for Champions League and I think everything's in front of us, but we have to keep continuing to better and striving to get better and fitter and healthier.”
