News Stand: RSL shuffles youth into the lineup in Vancouver

Justen Glad vs Vancouver 0530

With three games in one week, and Jamison Olave out with a red card, RSL decided to start Homegrown 18-year-old Justen Glad for the first time in his MLS career.

“I thought (Glad) did very well, a great job,” said coach Jeff Cassar in an article by Sean Walker of KSL.com.  “It’s not an easy task to have to defend these wide players for Vancouver.  With him, I am really pleased.”

Along with Glad making his first career start, Joao Plata made his first start of the season playing 70 minutes for RSL.  “RSL put several new faces into the lineup – and nearly came away with a point,” writes Walker.
