Real Salt Lake president Bill Manning accepted the ALS #IceBucketChallenge after RSL defeated Seattle Sounders FC in a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon. He passed on his three challenges to RSL head coach Jeff Cassar, Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan and Todd Beckerman (Kyle Beckerman's brother).
ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease). It is a disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.
