RSL Quick Kicks

  • With the cancellation of today’s training session, Real Salt Lake will finalize preparations for its weekend clash with Chivas USA on Friday morning with an 11:00 a.m. MT practice at Rio Tinto Stadium (open to the media and public in its entirety). Media are requested to arrive by 11:40 a.m. to ensure access to all players for interviews as they exit the field. In addition, Chivas USA will also train tomorrow at Rio Tinto Stadium at 5:00 p.m., with the session also open to members of the media and public for the duration.
  • Also happening tomorrow at Rio Tinto Stadium is the bigger and better version of the “Friday Friendly” event at the RSL Team Store between 4:00-7:00 p.m. Get ready for Saturday’s gameday with a bevy of activities, including a live remote of ESPN700’s “Bill Riley Show” (2:00-6:00 p.m.); an expanded menu of treats from Levy Restaurants (including brats, nachos and Budweiser refreshments); music by DJ Sayo; the RSL bounce house and “Kick It” inflatables; the “Royal Army” information/recruitment table; a 16-person XBOX FIFA 2012 tournament (sign-up starts at noon); the chance to “juggle for dollars” (up to $10 in RSL Team Store discounts) and giveaways from the RSL Team Store, Park City adidas Outlet Store, Subway, Wincraft and Levy Restaurants! For more information on tomorrow’s expanded Friday Friendly, dial up the Team Store Hotline at 801-727-2888.
  • With Saturday’s game marking the first of four RSL redemption dates for Seven Peaks’ “Pass of all Passes” holders, Claret-and-Cobalt fans are advised to purchase their tickets before redemptions begin Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Fans can purchase their seats in advance of gameday online via the Zions Bank Ticket Outlet on, over the phone by calling 801-727-2700 or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office Thursday & Friday from 10:00-6:00 p.m.
  • With weather like the Wasatch Front will see in over the next few days, it’s no surprise that Real Salt Lake expects a capacity crowd for the contest against Chivas USA! The forecast for Saturday night’s 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Rio Tinto Stadium calls for partly cloudy skies and 62 degrees.
