SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, September 20, 2011) – Real Salt Lake (14-7-6, 48 pts.; 3rd in West) will look to extend its MLS season-highfour-match winning streak tomorrow, Wednesday, September 21, when the Claret-and-Cobalt begin a weeklong East Coast road trip with a high-profile clash against the New York Red Bulls (7-6-15, 36 pts.; 5th in East). Kickoff at Red Bull Arena is set for 6:00 p.m. for a contest that will be televised live on KMYU 2.2 (Comcast 22 / Dish Network 12) and can be heard on ESPN 700 Sports (English) and Juan 1600-AM (Spanish).
In addition, RSL fanatics are invited to join up to view the game at any of the Official ESPN 700 Watch Parties for Real Salt Lake, taking place at all six ‘Bout Time Pub & Grub locations across the Salt Lake valley.

When 2010 Best XI defenders Nat Borchers and Jamison Olave start together and play 60+ minutes, Real Salt Lake has posted a 7-0-5 mark this season, allowing only 5 goals in those 12 games … When injury, suspension or red cards limit the duo’s time together and cause one or both to miss action, RSL is only 7-7-1 with 17 goals conceded … Olave – an MLS All-Star this season – has missed one game due to the red card on May 28 in the home loss to Seattle, two road games on turf that followed CONCACAF games 72 hours earlier and five games due to the knee injury suffered in the MLS All-Star Game in late July against Manchester United.
Borchers was ejected for the third time this season on August 27 at Chivas, denying Nick LaBrocca an “obvious goal-scoring opportunity” … Nat was also tossed in the 3rd minute of the wild 3-3 draw on July 4 at home vs. NE, and saw one red in CCL play on Feb. 22 at Columbus, when he and Emilio Renteria got tangled and both were ejected in the 72’ … Borchers has missed only 10 of RSL’s 151 matches across all competitions from 2008-present, with the four absences this year surpassing his three combined during the 2009 & 10 seasons.
RSL History v. New York
The RSL / NY all-time regular-season series has never seen a road team win in 16 tries, visitors posting an 0-6-10 mark … However, NY dealt RSL its first-ever Rio Tinto Stadium loss, 1-0, in the 2008 Western Conference Final – the teams’ lone postseason meeting – in a result that still stings … Back on August 6, RSL won 3-0 against NY thanks to goals by Nat Borchers, Luis Gil and Álvaro Saborío … RSL is 0-3-3 all-time in New Jersey, a ledger that included a scoreless draw in last year’s first visit to Red Bull Arena on Oct. 9 … Jason Kreis’ side has never lost a regular-season game on Utah soil to NY, posting a 3-0-4 mark and outscoring the “Metro-Bulls” 13-7.
