Man of the Match: After an injury in the first 15 minutes of the game, Sergio Cordova was tasked with stepping in to fill the void left by Maikel Chang. Cordova led RSL in shots with four, and shots on target with two. His goal in the 78th minute sparked the team’s comeback, cleaning up a loose ball inside the box to earn his first goal as a member of the Claret and Cobalt.
Telling Stat: Real Salt Lake’s three goals marked the most scored by the Claret and Cobalt in a single match since October 16, 2021 when the team defeated Colorado Rapids 3-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium. However, this time RSL was able to do so in just 12 minutes, the fastest RSL has scored three goals since September 1, 2018 when the team scored three goals against LA Galaxy in just 10 minutes during a 6-2 victory for RSL.
