Man of the Match: Captain Albert Rusnak netted his fifth goal of the season and nearly earned his fifth assist of the season, before the goal was called back for an offside in the first half. The midfielder put both of his shots on target and created two key scoring opportunities for his teammates to lift him in the fifth position for the most key passes in the league.
Telling Stat: Both defender Marcelo Silva and midfielder Jonathan Menendez recorded passing accuracies of 100 percent, with Silva completing 27 passes, meanwhile Menendez completed 16 passes.
What You Missed: Defender Aaron Herrera earned his seventh assist of the season, the fourth-most in the league and the most by any defender this year. Midfielder Jonathan Menendez also recorded his third assist in his fifth start since joining the club earlier this summer.
What’s Next: Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids will have to wait until Saturday, October 16 to determine who will lift the Rocky Mountain Cup this season, with each team holding a win in the three-game series. RSL can recapture the trophy, which Colorado won last year, with a win in October. If that match finishes in a draw the winner will be decided on goal differential.
