Real Monarchs SLC (8-1-1, 25 points); Portland Timbers 2 (6-3-2, 20 points)

Players to Watch – Timbers 2 striker Foster Langsdorf is a homegrown player who seems to have found his confidence in front of goal. The youthful Portland native leads T2 in goals with five goals in nine appearances this season. Three of his five goals came in Timbers 2 last outing against LA Galaxy II, where Portland clobbered Los Dos 7-3 off of the back of a Langsdorf hattrick.

History – The Monarchs lead the all-time series with a 4-2-3 record and an overall goal differential of plus two heading into Providence Park this weekend. The Monarchs seem to feed off the energy at home, with three of their four victories against T2 coming in the Salt Lake Valley. The last time the two clashed in the Monarchs home opening match at Rio Tinto Stadium, displaying a dominant 4-2 victory in late-April.

Last Five – Sitting in fourth-place in the West and only one point back of second place, Portland Timbers 2 have been a consistent side so far this season. Over the last five matches, Timbers 2 have a record of 3-1-1. T2 has scored 17 goals in its last seven games, only losing one of those games during that stretch. Seven goals came in their last match against LA Galaxy II, where they scored seven goals in an exciting 7-3 win at Providence Park.
