It’s that time again, time to check in on the three RSL player’s currently on loan …
Leading off will be an update on MF Alex Nimo who is currently with the Portland Timbers and have posted a 3-1-2 (11 pts) record. Nimo is received much deserved praise from the Timber faithful that he most definitely deserves. According the offside blog for the Timbers “Alex Nimo was again the best player on the pitch for Portland and his crosses and deft work in possession helped jumpstart the Timbers’ rusty attack.” High praise will assuredly follow the MF for many matches to come as he continues to impress the folks in the Northwest region.
On the table: After taking one of a possible six points from two home contests last week, the Timbers (3-1-2, 11 pts.) relinquished the top spot in the USL Pro-First Division, falling two points behind the surprising Austin Aztex (4-1-1, 13 pts.) and even with the Rochester Rhinos (3-1-2).

- May 13 v. Crystal Palace Baltimore – came off the bench to play 66 minutes in a 0-1 defeat at PGE Park
- May 15 v AC St. Louis – started and played 66 minutes in a 1-1 draw at PGE Park

Next up is GK Tim Melia who is currently with the Charleston Battery who have an impressive 5-0-1 (16 pts) start to their season. Melia has been a welcomed addition to the Battery as seen in a local Post and Courier article which can be seen here. A couple of lines from the article praise how much Melia has meant to the club after going through many ‘keepers and they public is excited to have Melia on loan from RSL. Here’s a rundown of his current stats to show why the fans and team love him so dearly: 6 starts, 5 wins, 1 tie, 2 clean sheets, only allowed 4 goals, and his GAA is 0.67! Nice work Tim!
On the Table: Charleston’s undefeated 5-0-1 record and subsequent 16 points has shot the Battery out to a quick seven-point cushion atop the seven-team USL-Pro Second Division, with the Charlotte Eagles and Richmond Kickers giving chase at 9 points.
Last game:May 15 v. Pittsburgh Riverhounds – Saw only shot on frame get past, but still garnered the “W” from a 2-1 result at Blackbaud Stadium

And finally we will venture out to the Atlantic to see how DF David Horst is doing with the Puerto Rico Islanders. Finally his paperwork went through and has been allowed to start playing. He started in the May 7th game in Trinidad and Tobago against Joe Public as the Islanders took the result 1-1 in a closely contested match. The result also ensured the Puerto Rican side a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League. Not to mention getting to play a game in Trinidad and Tobago? Not too shabby Mr. Horst … not too shabby at all. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
On the table: The Islanders started off their quirky schedule quite well, winning two out of their first three. However, Puerto Rico’s last match came on May 1, forcing the Islanders (2-1-0, 6 pts.) to play catch up to the rest of their USL Pro-First Division brethren as they sit on the bottom of the six-team table … however, still within striking distance of both 5th place Minnesota and 4th place Tampa Bay.
