Game at a Glance: Damir Kreilach Does it Again

Man of the Match: Throughout the match much of the play came from the two outside backs, both defensively and offensively. Homegrown rightback Aaron Herrera made three tackles, three interceptions and one block while also assisting on the team’s lone goal. 
Telling Stat: Forward Damir Kreilach scored his 29th regular-season goal for Real Salt Lake in the 13th minute, his third of the year. Kreilach has now surpassed RSL legend Kyle Beckerman for the sixth-most goals across all competitions behind Alvaro Saborio, (79 goals), Javier Morales (60), Joao Plata (53), Robbie Findley (42) and Fabian Espindola (35). 
What You Missed: During the halftime break Real Salt Lake announced the signing of Argentine forward Jonathan Menéndez, who will join fellow forward Bobby Wood as new players joining the team during the international break prior to the RSL’s next match. The team will now face a nearly three-week break before taking the pitch again at Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday, June 18 at 8:00 p.m. MT versus Vancouver Whitecaps.

So What: For the first time since the Loons joined the league in 2017, Real Salt Lake will finish the regular season undefeated against Minnesota United with a 2-1 win at Allianz Field and a 1-1 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium.  Through six matches, all against teams that made the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2020, RSL has nine points, good for fifth in Western Conference in points per game.
