RIO TINTO STADIUM TO HOST VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC MATCHES THROUGH JULY
SANDY, Utah – (Friday, May 28, 2021) – Real Salt Lake together with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Major League Soccer today confirmed that Whitecaps FC will continue playing its home matches at Rio Tinto Stadium through July 2021. Additionally, the Whitecaps FC match originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 21 against the Houston Dynamo has been moved to Tuesday, July 20 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
“As an organization, RSL remains committed to ensuring that Vancouver Whitecaps FC has all of the resources needed to be successful on the field and to feel at home in our city and stadium during their stay,” RSL Interim President John Kimball said. “We are proud to host Vancouver Whitecaps FC in their time of need and will continue to work diligently for as long as necessary to provide them with world-class amenities here in Salt Lake City.”
Real Salt Lake returns to the field on Saturday, May 29 to welcome Minnesota United FC at 7:30 p.m. MT. Tickets to the match can be purchased at RSL.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX (844-732-5849).
Following the FIFA international break from May 31 to June 14, RSL will resume MLS regular season play as the home side against Whitecaps FC on Friday, June 18. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium.
