Stories to Watch:
Here He Goes Again
Rubio Rubin scored his team-leading fourth goal this past weekend against FC Dallas and is now tied for the third-most in the league. The last time he played against Minnesota the forward contributed two assists on the team’s way to victory. He is currently averaging a goal every 102 minutes.
New Squad, Who This?
Since the last meeting on April 24, Minnesota has added four players to the ranks including midfielders Franco Fragapane from Argentina, Adrien Hunou from France and Homegrown Aziel Jackson. During the offseason they also added Argentine striker Ramon Abila who did not play against RSL last time around.
We’ll See You Soon
RSL will be without goalkeeper David Ochoa who was named to the U.S. National Team for its upcoming run of games, including a friendly against Switzerland, the Nations League and a friendly against Costa Rica at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 9. Ochoa earned his first win as a starting goalkeeper the last time RSL faced Minnesota, and this past weekend against FC Dallas recorded a career-high eight saves. Andrew Putna, who has played in 22 matches for RSL, and Zac MacMath, who has played in seven matches, will be available to play between the pipes.

Connections: During Rubio Rubin’s first season with FC Utrecht in the Netherlands a young forward Juan Agudelo was sent on loan from Stoke City, the two combined for six goals and nine assists. At the collegiate level Herrera overlapped for two years with forward Niko Hansen at the University of New Mexico and in their final year together they helped the team earn its fourth Conference USA Tournament championship.
