Man of the Match: Malik Johnson assisted the team’s first and eventual game-tying goal, providing service on a dime to forward Jeizon Ramirez in the 41st minute. 
Telling Stat: The backline of Daniel Flores, Jaziel Orozco, Kyle Adams and Frankie Martinez included three teenagers for an average age of 19 years old. Together they combined for six interceptions and five clearances and earned a 85% passing rate. 
What You Missed: In their third match of the season Real Monarchs nearly earned their first shutout of the season when an unfortunate ricochet made contact with goalkeeper Zac MacMath’s left upper thigh to give Austin the equalizer. MacMath made several massive saves in the second half to preserve the scoreline and earn the point.
