RSL Returns to the Pitch While Justen Glad Joins Preseason Training

Back in Herriman

Real Salt Lake returned to the training pitch at Zions Bank Training Center on Monday after spending the entirety of last week training in Phoenix, Arizona.

After spending Sunday away from the pitch, the team returned to training where it was put through an extended warmup before moving into possession and movement oriented drills before an 8v8, small-sided competition to close out the day.

A Familiar Face

Defender Justen Glad joined the club’s preseason preparations for the first time in 2020 after participating in the U.S. Men’s National Team’s annual January camp that ran from January 5-25. Glad was named to the camp roster by Head Coach Gregg Berhalter on December 30 and was with the USMNT since January 5. Glad and the rest of the camp spent the majority of the month in Carson, California where they played closed-door scrimmages and finished camp with a 1-0 victory over CONCACAF rival Costa Rica on Saturday. Glad did not feature in Saturday’s win at Dignity Health Sports Park.

RSL now turns its attention to a week of training in Herriman from Monday to Friday before departing for the fourth leg of the 2020 preseason next week. The team will be in Tucson, Arizona from February 11-23 where it will train and play three matches in the 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup. The team’s full preseason schedule can be found here.
