Utah Royals FC MF Desiree Scott Called-Up for Canada Friendly Against Japan

SANDY, Utah – (Thursday, September 26, 2019) – Utah Royals FC MF Desiree Scott has been named to the Canada Women’s National Team by Head CoachKenneth Heiner-Møller in anticipation for a friendly against Japan on Saturday, October 5 at 11:30 p.m. MT. The match will be played at IAI Stadium Nihondaira in Shizuoka, Japan. 
“Desi continues to be a staple for her country and club,” General Manager Stephanie Lee said. “We are proud of her and wish her luck during this friendly.” 
The call-up marks the first time Scott will appear with the Canadian National Team since the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup this past summer. During the tournament Scott started every match for Canada.  
Scott has made 147 appearances in her nearly decade-long international career, having made her first team debut on February, 24, 2010 in the 2-1 victory over Switzerland in the 2010 Cyprus Women’s Cup.  
Utah Royals FC heads East to face the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, September 28 at SeatGeek Stadium. Following the match Scott will depart to join Canada in Japan.
