“Corey has had a good year and has been rewarded with goals in the last few weeks, so it’s good to see that he’s still in the conversation with the U.S. National Team,” RSL General Manager Craig Waibel said.  “It’s such a great opportunity for him to continue to develop and get some deserved attention.”

Baird, 22, is in his second year with Real Salt Lake after signing prior to the 2018 season.  A product of Real Salt Lake’s Academy, he has four goals and three assists in 25 matches this season after leading all rookies in scoring with eight goals, adding five assists in his 2018 MLS AT&T Rookie of the Year campaign.

“Along the lines of progress, the starting point for the roster is we’re able to maintain a core group of main players from the Gold Cup and continue building. We are also bringing some new players into the fold that we feel have the potential to make an impact with this team,” Berhalter said.

Real Salt Lake is currently second in the Western Conference standings at 13-10-4 (43 points) and faces the Portland Timbers on Saturday at Providence Park.  Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MT with live coverage on KMYU, the KSL TV app and ESPN 700.
