Man of the Match: Forward Douglas Martinez lead the impressive Monarchs attacking front throughout the night. Martinez notched a brace on the night, with his first goal coming early with a chip that floated over the RGV goalkeeper before he rifled in a shot to the far post in the second half. Martinez also acted as a playmaker, assisting Josh Heard in his goal while creating an additional three key chances in the night. With his performance, Douglas Martinez earned the title of Man of the Match.


Telling Stat: 21. With a staggering 21 shots towards the Rio Grande Valley FC goal, the Monarchs showed they were determined to secure the three points at home at Zions Bank Stadium. The Monarchs offense came together to test the RGV back line and secured five goals to come away with a long-awaited win.
