RSL Visits the Montreal Impact in First Two-Match East Coast Swing

SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, May 28, 2019) – Real Salt Lake is set for its first double-match week of the 2019 campaign as it first visits the Montreal Impact on Wednesday, May 29 at Stade Saputo. Kickoff from Montreal is set for 5:30p MT as Head Coach Mike Petke looks to lead RSL to its fourth consecutive victory.

RSL travels to Canada on the back of a dramatic 2-1 victory over defending MLS Cup champion Atlanta United on Friday at Rio Tinto Stadium. The victory saw a signature strike from FW Sebastian Saucedo supplemented by a last-gasp wonder-strike from FW Jefferson Savarino in stoppage time to seal the club’s third straight victory.

The last time RSL and the Montreal Impact faced one another on August 11, 2018, saw FW Joao Plata score a penalty kick before a second half strike from Impact defender Jukka Raitala leveled the match at 1-1.

The Montreal Impact are coming off a 4-2 loss at the hands of Western Conference leaders LAFC last Friday.  LAFC dominated the majority of the match before the Impact notched two late goals. The Impact currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference at 6-6-3 (21 points) and will be looking to build upon an undefeated 3-0-0 record against RSL in Montreal on Wednesday.
