HERRIMAN, Utah (Monday, May 27, 2019) – Real Monarchs SLC (3-5-3, 12 points, 15 West) moves out on the road in the search for its first win away from home when it faces Portland Timbers 2 Wednesday, May 29 at Providence Park. Kickoff in Oregon is set for 8:00p MT.

In its second match in the Four-Corners Cup, Real Monarchs fell in a 4-2 result against Phoenix Rising FC. FW Douglas Martinez doubled that lead just a few moments later, converting a lobbed pass from MF Ricardo Avila. As Rising FC fell into its rhythm however, the Arizona side would convert four unanswered goals to take away the three points from Zions Bank Stadium.

The Monarchs now hit the road to play Portland Timbers 2 for the first time in 2019. In 2018, the Monarchs and Timbers 2 met twice early in the season in matches that saw the two split the six points with a win each. The Monarchs opened its 2018 incredible 13 game undefeated home streak with a 4-2 win over Portland Timbers 2, then fell at Providence Park two months later to a late second-half goal.
