HERRIMAN, Utah (Tuesday, October 2, 2018) – Real Monarchs SLC (17-12-3, 54 points, 4 West) welcomes Oklahoma City Energy FC to Zions Bank Stadium on Wednesday, October 2 for the Utah side’s final home match of the United Soccer League’s 2018 regular season. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. MT as Interim Head Coach Jamison Olave looks to lead his team in an effort to break its seven-match winless skid ahead of the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs.

Fans can purchase tickets and a corn dog to Wednesday’s match for just $6 by going to RealMonarchs.com/promo and using code: WINNING at checkout. General admission tickets start at just $9 and can be purchased by going to RealMonarchs.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.

The Monarchs are coming off the back of a 2-0 loss at the hands of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, its second loss to the Colorado side this season. Despite holding the shots on goal advantage as well as the majority of possession, the ball just didn’t find the back of the net for the Monarchs as the club fell at Zions Bank Stadium for just the second time this season.

The Monarchs and OKC have faced one another on one occasion this season, a match that saw the Monarchs mount a two-goal comeback on August 11 before ultimately falling 3-2 at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK. Scoring goals for the Monarchs on August 11 were MFs Charlie Adams and Jack Blake. Blake’s goal was his first for the club that leveled the match at two apiece before a late Energy FC strike sunk the Monarchs on the road.

Real Monarchs moved away from the home of Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC at Rio Tinto Stadium in April to christen the new, 5,000 seat Zions Bank Stadium on the campus of the $78 million Zions Bank Real Academy in Herriman, Utah. The state-of-the-art venue will boast a full-service press box and broadcasting booth as well as concessions on either side of the stadium. Officially opening April 2018, the Monarchs will host 17 regular-season matches at Zions Bank Stadium in the first year at the league’s newest venue starting with an April 30 match against Las Vegas Lights FC for the first ever “Saints-and-Sinners/I-15” Rivalry.

The Herriman facility provides adjacencies for an on-site charter school in conjunction with the Jordan School District, which opened last August, focusing on STEM disciplines (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) for nearly 300 boys and girls, kicking off a new era for both sports and education in Utah.

Last December in North Logan, Utah, RSL Owner Dell Loy Hansen christened the opening of the first of a half-dozen regional training centers across Utah and Arizona to be built in the next 2-3 years.  Each $5 million RTC houses a classroom, as well as an indoor and outdoor field, dedicated to fulfilling a curriculum consistent with the club's vision and mission for youth soccer training and education, and the continued development of both recreational and competitive pre-Academy (ages 7-14) initiatives across Utah and Arizona.
