HOUSTON, TX (Sunday, August 5, 2018) – Utah Royals FC (5-6-7, 22 pts., NWSL 7th place) face the Houston Dash TONIGHT, Sunday, August 5, for the third and final time in its inaugural season, looking to gain critical points in a late-season playoff push at BBVA Compass stadium. Tonight’s kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MT, with the match airing live on KMYU, the KSL TV app and ESPN700 AM with Greg Wrubell and Carla Haslam on the call.

Sunday’s match sees Head Coach Laura Harvey welcome the return to league action for recent Tournament of Nations participants Becky Sauerbrunn, Christen Press, and Amy Rodriguez (USA), and Katrina Gorry (Australia), as all four missed the 0-0 home draw on July 20 against league-leading North Carolina. The U.S. ended the cup with a gold medal, followed by second-place Australia in a four-team tourney that also included Japan and Brazil.

Utah earned a scoreless draw at Houston in the franchise’s second-ever match, back on March 30 at BBVA Compass Stadium, a dominant performance turned away repeatedly by Dash GK Jane Campbell. On May 19 at Rio Tinto Stadium, Utah’s Erika Tymrak registered the game-winning goal, taking a one-touch shot outside of the box that slid past Campbell.

Like URFC, Houston (6-7-5) resides among six NWSL teams in an eight-point group fighting for the final three playoff spots, standing in sixth overall with 23 points. Houston resumes action following a 1-0 win against the Washington Spirit at Maureen Hendricks Field on July 22.
