Man of the Match: Milan Iloski recorded a first-half brace in the 2-0 victory, marking his first two professional goals since joining the club at the start of the 2020 season. Making runs in behind from the midfield, Iloski remained dangerous throughout the match and recorded all five of the team’s shots on goal.


Telling Stat: In addition to earning the first win of the season, the team also recorded its first shutout, led by Erik Holt, Ashtone Morgan, Jaziel Orozco, Timi Sobowale and Andrew Putna in goal. In doing so they were able to prevent Sacramento from putting a single shot on target, the first team to do so this season.


What You Missed: With an assist in the 41st minute, midfielder Maikel Chang moved up into second all-time in USL Championship history for assists with 38. Chang is now just one assist shy of tying for the number one spot currently held by Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC midfielder Kenardo Forbes.


So What: Coming off of the club’s first victory of the 2021 campaign, the Real Monarchs hit the road for its third match in eight days against Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday, June 12 at 6:00 p.m. MT. This will be the ninth all-time match between the two sides and the first of four this season.
