Real Monarchs Fall 2-0 to Austin Bold FC

AUSTIN, Texas (Wednesday, May 26, 2021) – Real Monarchs (0-2-2, 2 points) fell 2-0 on the road to Austin Bold FC at Bold Stadium on Wednesday night. 
A first-half penalty and a stoppage time goal were enough to give the home side the victory.
The Monarchs had several chances to take the lead in an evenly-possessed first half, but Austin Bold FC struck first. Following a foul in the box by the Monarchs defense, Sean Okoli converted the penalty to give the Bold the lead at the break.
The closest chance of the night for Real Monarchs came late in the 74th minute. Following a free kick into the box by defender Noah Powder, defender Jaziel Orozco’s shot hit the right corner of the crossbar to deny the equalizer. Austin doubled the lead in the fourth minute of stoppage time with a goal from Jorge Troncoso and the match finished 2-0.
