Five RSL Organization Members Selected to CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Rosters

HERRIMAN, Utah (Tuesday, February 23, 2021) - Justen Glad, Aaron Herrera, David Ochoa and Douglas Martinez of Real Salt Lake, as well as Malik Johnson of Real Monarchs, have been named to the preliminary roster for their respective countries for the upcoming CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be hosted next month in Mexico. 


Of the 384 athletes chosen for the eight qualifying teams, Real Salt Lake is tied with FC Dallas and LA Galaxy for the fourth-most of players representing a single organization in Major League Soccer, only the three Canadian clubs have more. In addition to the five players currently dawning the RSL Crest, there are four Real Salt Lake Academy products listed - Danilo Acosta (HON), Brooks Lennon (USA), Sebastian Saucedo (USA) and Sebastian Soto (USA).
Glad, Herrera and Ochoa were all named to the 48-man roster for the United States U-23 National Team. From that list, former Real Salt Lake and current US U-23 Head Coach Jason Kreis will dwindle the roster down to 20 men ahead of the tournament. Meanwhile, Martinez is on Honduras’ preliminary roster and Johnson is one of only six currently playing in the United States to appear on Canada’s roster. 
Final rosters for the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament are due 10 days prior to the start of the tournament.
