RSL Visits Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Portland on Saturday

REAL SALT LAKE TO FACE WHITECAPS FC SATURDAY IN PORTLAND
Kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. MT from Vancouver’s Satellite Home in Oregon

SANDY, Utah – (Friday, October 9, 2020) – Real Salt Lake will travel back to Portland, Oregon on Saturday, October 10 to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the second time in 2020. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. MT from Providence Park with the match being broadcast live on KMYU and the KSL TV app and ESPN700 radio.

RSL enters Sunday’s match after falling 2-1 to Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday in Seattle, a match that saw RSL’s comeback fall short despite a Maikel Chang-generated own goal in the second half.

Wednesday will be the 24th all-time meeting between RSL and The ‘Caps as RSL looks to advance its 1-8-1 record at Vancouver since 2011. Saturday’s match will be played in a familiar environment for both sides at Providence Park as Vancouver calls Portland its temporary home for the remainder of the 2020 season while the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

In the last meeting between the sides, Whitecaps FC walked away from Utah 2-1 victors courtesy of goals from Lucas Cavallini and David Milinkovic. Justin Meram notched RSL’s lone goal of the match in the loss.

Vancouver enters the weekend’s match against RSL having dropped a 3-0 result to the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday in a match that saw two ‘Caps players receive reds cards.
