Utah Royals FC Canadian Duo Named to Tournoi de France Roster

SANDY, Utah – (Wednesday, February 26, 2020) – Utah Royals FC midfielders Diana Matheson and Desiree Scott have been named to the Canadian roster for the upcoming Tournoi de France. 
The invitational tournament is the first of its kind in France, it will be made up of four teams - host country France, Brazil, Canada and Netherlands, all of whom are ranked in the top 10 in FIFA World Rankings. Canada will begin the tournament on March 4 against France. From there they will face Netherlands on March 7 and will conclude the tournament on March 10 against Brazil. 
Matheson makes her return to the Canada National Team after a year of being left off due to injury. It also marks her first return to the pitch since March of 2019 as she missed all of the past year with Utah Royals FC. The veteran midfielder is the second-highest capped player with 203 appearances with 18 goals and 22 assists.
Scott, also a veteran midfielder, has the fifth-most appearances with 153 games played. Scott most recently played with Canada in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers where they played second and qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games  in Tokyo.
