The RSL Academy Sees Mixed Results in Colorado

The RSL Academy visited Colorado over the weekend to face the Colorado Rapids and Real Colorado as all three teams played to mixed results.


The U-15s drew 3-3 with the Rapids on Saturday before topping Real Colorado 2-0 on Sunday. Against the Rapids, Anwar Ben Rhouma Torres, Aldo Carmona-Gallardo and Marcos Torres all scored RSL with Carmona-Gallardo and Carlos Garcia Ruiz Jr. scoring in the win over Real Colorado.


The U-17s topped both teams from Colorado by 2-1 scorelines as Ethan Calimpong and Kevin Jimenez scored against the Rapids on Saturday. On Sunday, Calimpong added another goal after Christian Nydegger drew the match level after Colorado found the opening goal just 15 minutes into the match.


Finally, the U-19s dropped both of its matches by 2-0 and 3-2 scorelines respectively. After being shutout against the Rapids on Saturday, Nikolas Kizerian and Christopher Garca both scored goals against Real Colorado. Garcia’s opener came just two minutes into the match before Colorado took control of the match through the remainder of the game.


The RSL Academy returns to action on Saturday, September 21 when it hosts the Settle Sounders FC Academy in Herriman beginning at 9:00a MT with the U-15s. Academy matches are free and open to the public and fans are strongly encouraged to attend.
