Interim Head Coach Jámison Olave
On beating New Mexico:
"It feels really good. Our players played really good today; the first half we started a little flat. The first 10-15 minutes we played that way. After that, our team played differently, we won the ball. The players were happy because they knew we beat a really good team."
"On the Monarchs defense and shutout:
"We were talking about scoring, but more importantly when you score, what happens next. We showed today how to defend when you get the lead, that led us to three points."
On the mentality Monarchs should have after a four-game winning streak:
"That is going to be so important for us to keep our minds in the right place during the week. That was four games straight just winning, but we take it game by game. During the week we have to keep working hard, keeping working on putting our game plan into the game, and see how we succeed."
Goalkeeper David Ochoa
On getting the clean sheet:
“It feels good. I feel really good. Honestly, last game in New Mexico they beat us so it feels good to get the clean sheet.”
On the four-game win-streak:
"We are feeling good. We have really good momentum. As a team, we are hard on each other so that helps us out a lot. We are a good team."
On the mentality moving forward:
"The mentality is to keep going. We are getting these wins and working hard. We want to take advantage of it."
Defender Konrad Plewa
On shutting out New Mexico after losing in April:
"It feels great. We have been hunting for a shutout for the last couple games, gave up a goal here and there the last couple of matches. It was unfortunate. So it feels really good to finally get that clean sheet."
On beating New Mexico:
"They are a quality side. They attack with numbers, they have good players, good technical players, and one-on-one players, credit to the fellas out here tonight. Everyone bought into the game plan and we executed well."
On keeping the win streak going into the next game:
"Nothing needs to change. Keep going like we have been going and keep getting results. We shot ourselves in the foot a little bit earlier in the season when we had a stretch of tough games, but I feel like we are on a roll, so we just have to keep that going."
