Utah Royals FC Reserves Qualify for Region Semifinal

In its inaugural season, Utah Royals FC Reserves have secured a spot in the Central Region semifinals. The first-year program topped the Mountain West Conference with 25 points and went undefeated through eight games under the leadership of Head Coach Amy LePeilbet, former United States Women’s National Team defender and assistant to Utah Royals FC of the National Women’s Soccer League.
“I have really enjoyed being the head coach of the URFC Reserve team,” said LePeilbet “I really love player development and that is what this team is all about. We get to focus on enjoying the game and trying to get a little better each day. The essence of this team is helping players on their journey and I love that I am a part of it!”
“We are so proud of Amy and her players to have earned this accomplishment,” General Manager Stephanie Lee said. “They continue to represent the Utah Royals FC organization with determination and hard work.”
The reserves are led by Hailey Skolmoski-North, a graduate of the University of Utah, who has netted five goals, tied for the most in the Mountain West Conference. She is followed closely behind by Mikayla Colohan, a product of Brigham Young University, and Ireland Dunn of the University of Utah, both of whom have scored four goals.
Brigham Young University forward Cameron Tucker not only leads the squad with her six assists, but the entire Women’s Premier Soccer League. Dunn has also contributed four assists, tied for the fourth-most in the league.
“I think the team has done well so far because every player has been committed to the process from the very beginning and the team culture is strong,” said LePeilbet “They treat each other with respect, they have great attitudes, they train hard, they focus on the small details, they play hard on game day and they are having fun!”
The regional semifinal will take place outside of Minneapolis, MN on July 13 with the final taking place the following day, July 14. The winner of the Central Region will go on to take part in the National Championship which will be held the weekend of July 20-21 in Oklahoma.
