Player to Watch – With three goals in the last two games, forward Deshorn Brown is in a strong run of form and proving his place on the OKC Energy attacking front. The 28-year-old striker has earned 14 appearances on the Jamaican Men’s National team, and has experience in MLS having played for both D.C. United and Colorado Rapids as well as USL with appearances for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Brown is dangerous from close range, putting the six goals he has scored this season from within the box and is one to watch when the Monarchs visit OKC Energy FC this weekend.


History – The forthcoming contest between Real Monarchs and OKC Energy FC will be the eighth in the all-time series between the two, a series that sees OKC lead 4-3-0. The last meeting saw the Monarchs extend its home record against Energy FC to 3-0-0, as a brace from Bofo Saucedo secured the 2-1 win over the visitors. The Monarchs now venture on the road to Taft Stadium, where it has yet to pick up a win, and searches to snap its current road skid.


Last Five – OKC Energy FC has seen a mixed bag of results in the last five games, earning a record of 2-2-1. The two wins came from the lone two home games in the five-game stretch as OKC picked up 1-0 and 2-1 wins over Orange County SC and Tacoma Defiance respectively. Energy’s latest bout came last Saturday, when it fell to Austin Bold FC on the road at Bold Stadium. OKC Energy FC now defends its home of Taft Stadium against a rested and fired up Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday.
