Royals FC saw its undefeated start come to a close on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to the Houston Dash at Rio Tinto Stadium.  Amy Rodriguez scored an early goal, but Rachel Daly responded with one on each side of halftime as Utah dropped points for the first time this season, falling to 3-1-0 (9 points) and second in the NWSL standings.

URFC looks get back in the win column on Sunday against the North Carolina Courage at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. MT with live coverage on KMYU, the KSL TV app and KSLsports.com.

In international news, the URFC trio of Kelley O’Hara, Becky Sauerbrunn and Christen Press all started on Sunday for the U.S. in a 3-0 win over South Africa in the first of three matches in the U.S. send-off series as the Stars and Stripes prepare for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.  The U.S. will face URFC defender Katie Bowen and New Zealand on Thursday in St. Louis before concluding the series against Mexico on May 26 in Harrison, New Jersey.

Real Monarchs SLC

The Monarchs (3-4-2, 11 points) were out of action over the weekend and return to the pitch on the road Saturday against OKC Energy FC in Oklahoma City.

RSL Academy

The RSL Academy was back at Zions Bank Real Academy on Saturday after over a month between league matches and both the U-17s and U-19s scored 2-0 wins over Real So Cal to remain in contention for the USSDA Playoffs.

The U-19s got two goals from Julian Vazquez, giving him five goals on the season, and kept a clean sheet to improve to 13-4-5 (44 points), taking a firm hold of second place in the Southwest Division.

The U-17s saw Bode Davis score his 11th goal of the season in the third minute, but didn’t see the second goal added until the 85th minute when Nicolas Bellini netted his first of the year in a 2-0 win.  The U-17s remain in fifth in the Southwest Division, holding on to the fourth Wild Card playoff position in the process.

Saturday marks the regular season finale for both teams, as the RSL Academy meets Pateadores at Zions Bank Real Academy with the U-17s kicking off at 11 a.m. MT with the U-19s to follow at 1:30 p.m. MT.
