Real Monarchs SLC (1-1-2, 5 points); Reno 1868 FC (1-0-3, 6 points)

Player to Watch – In his third season for Reno 1868 FC,  Brian Brown continues to be a dominant force on the attacking front. Starting in all three games he has played so far this season, Brown has picked up four goals, two of which came from the winning brace at home against Austin Bold FC. The Jamaica native is currently tied for third in the league in the early race for the golden boot, a race last year he finished in the top 10. With his dangerous low shots towards goal, Brown is a player to watch when the Monarchs host Reno on Saturday.

History – In regular season play, Real Monarchs hold a definitive lead in the all-time series with a record of 4-1-0 after the two teams clashed twice in 2018, splitting the six points evenly with a win each. The two clashed in the postseason of last year, where Reno took the win after scoring in the dying moments of the match, forcing Real Monarchs to bow out of USL Cup Playoffs. The two will now return to Zions Bank Stadium for their bout since the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Last Five – Reno 1868 FC is one of four teams in the Western Conference team that remains undefeated in the new season, however in the first four games the Nevada team has only picked up one win. Coming off of two consecutive ties, Reno now holds a record of 1-0-3 and one point above the Monarchs on the league table. Reno will now test its unbeaten streak against the Real Monarchs home fortress of Zions Bank Stadium where the Monarchs hold a positive all-time record of 14-2-3.
