QUOTE SHEET
Real Monarchs 0-1 Reno 1868 FC
Zions Bank Stadium; Herriman, Utah
October 20, 2018
Real Monarchs

Interim Head Coach Jamison Olave
On the chances in the game:

“That late goal they scored, we didn’t expect it with the way we played, how many chances we created and the way we approached the game. We were very confident we were going to win before the extra time. There was a dis-concentration near the end that cost us the game and the season for us.”

On the 2018 season:

“This team, the players, we went through many things this season, but the players did really good. Like I said to the players before the game, everything we did this season was great. Just get out, enjoy the game and be proud of what we did this year. That’s what they did. The way they showed up in the game today made me feel proud because they put everything in to win the game. That’s soccer. Sometimes you put everything to win and you end losing like today.”

A message to the fans:

“I just want to say thank you for the support, for coming here and being with us especially today. We feel the support of the people and there was a lot of people. Hopefully next year, they come and support us again.”

Forward Chandler Hoffman
On the performance from the game:
“I think devastating is the only way to put it. We had opportunities we needed to find the back of the net. We finish one chance and it changes the whole game. When you leave it late like that, it was kind of end-to-end towards the end. They found the goal in the death of the game.”

On the 2018 season:
“We had a special group and that’s the most disappointing part. I feel like the story is cut short; it felt like this was the year. Every one had kind of written us off towards the end of the season and I felt we had enough quality to make a run and win a championship. That’s going to be the hard part for me, to find any positives right now because I feel the story shouldn’t be over yet.”

A final message to the fans:
“It’s been such a blessing to play here the past two years. For Dan Egner for bringing me in and then Del Loy (Hansen) for believing in me and the coaching staff, to the training staff, to the players and especially the fans. They really made it a special place for me. This is where I’ve played the most games professionally so it will always be a special place in my heart. We won the regular season championship but I wanted to go out with a USL championship so I feel a little disappointed I wasn’t able to do that for everyone here.”
