SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, August 14, 2018) – Real Salt Lake (10-9-5, 35 pts., 6th West) kicks off a three-game road trip in a nationally-televised ESPN2 affair Wednesday night from the spectacular new Banc of California Stadium against 2018 expansion side Los Angeles FC (10-7-6, 36 pts., 5th West), with an 8:00 p.m. MT kickoff featuring Jonathan Yardley and Brian Dunseth on the call.
RSL continues its road run this weekend at Houston on Sat., Aug. 18, prior to a Sat., Aug. 25 trip to suburban Denver for the Rocky Mountain Cup decider. Overall, five of the club’s next seven matches through the beginning of October will be played on the road, where RSL has earned just five points in 11 games thus far this season (1-8-2). However, RSL remains above the playoff line amongst the top six in the Western Conference due to its play at Rio Tinto Stadium, where Head Coach Mike Petke’s team boasts an active 12-game unbeaten run at home and an overall 2018 mark of 9-1-3 in Sandy (outscoring opponents 25-11) this year, losing only the season opener on March 10 to LAFC, a 1-5 decision.
