8:00 p.m. MT; ESPN+

Real Monarchs SLC (3-6-3, 12 points); Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (4-5-4, 16 points)

Player to Watch – Forward Michael Salazar has made a dangerous presence of himself in the attacking front for Rio Grande Valley FC Toros. In his last appearance, Salazar came on as a substitution late in the match, immediately making an impact with two chances created in an attempt to level the scoring. The Belizean international notched two goals to contribute to the 3-1 win over San Antonio FC and one goal to help take home the point against LA Galaxy II. With 3 goals in his last 3 appearances, Salazar is in a good run of form and is a player to look out for in RGVFC’s contest with Real Monarchs SLC.

History – After splitting the six points between one another evenly in the 2018 season, Real Monarchs SLC lead Rio Grande Valley FC in the all-time series with a record of 3-2-1. The last time the two met was in Texas in a bout that saw RGV pick up a pair of second-half goals to take the win. Earlier that season, the Monarchs hosted the Toros at Zions Bank Stadium where it shut out the opposition, earning the 2-0 win. Saturday will be the fourth contest between the two on Utah soil, where the Monarchs have earned the advantage with a 2-1-0 overall record.

Last Five – RGV have been inconsistent in the last five games, picking up a record of 2-2-1 and 7 points. Most recently, RGV played to a 2-1 loss against Orange County SC after taking away the three points at home against San Antonio FC to a 3-1 score line. The Toros have not seen much success on the road however, seeing a record of 1-3-1 in its last five road games with the lone win coming from Portland Timbers 2 in late April. Toros will now head to Zions Bank Stadium looking to improve its road record against a Utah side looking to swing momentum in its favor to snap its winless run.
