USL Week 26 Power Rankings

A continued drop in form from the Real Monarchs continued Saturday as they fell 2-0 on the road at Phoenix Rising FC to move to 0-2-1 in its last three matches, keeping the club in fourth place in the weekly power rankings. However, the club remained atop the USL standings by four points as the race for a USL Regular Season Championship heats up. Here’s how the power ranking pundits view the Monarchs in the league landscape after Week 26:

The Monarchs will have been thankful to see all of the other sides that could contend for the USL Regular Season Championship falter over the weekend as their first three-game winless streak of the season arrived in Phoenix. With only one shot on goal against Rising FC on Saturday night, getting the offense back into a high gear will likely be the focus this week ahead of Orange County SC’s visit on Friday night.

The Monarchs are now on their first three-game winless streak of the season, and first in more than a year, and the signs of frustration were there late on in Saturday’s contest as the team’s attack struggled to come to life when it needed to most. With San Antonio FC in action on Sunday evening, Real’s lead at the top of the Western Conference could be down to one point by the time it takes to the field back at Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday night against Orange County SC, a game that is now looking like a must-win to get things back on track for the Western Conference leader.”

The Monarchs will return to Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday September 22, for a matchup with Orange County SC as the hunt for USL silverware continues. The match will kick off at 7:00 pm MT while tickets can be purchased by clicking the picture below:
