Jordan Allen Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

SANDY, Utah (Friday, June 30, 2017) – Real Salt Lake has announced that FW Jordan Allen has undergone a successful knee procedure on Thursday and is on the road to recovery.

Allen, 22, underwent surgery to repair a left knee femoral chondral defect and will be out 6-7 months.  The Real Salt Lake Academy product is in his fourth MLS season, totaling 50 appearances with four goals and four assists.  He started in the first two matches of the season before suffering a series of injuries.  He made his return to the lineup on June 14 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, playing 45 minutes against Sacramento Republic FC.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Cooper at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center.

“Jordan’s surgery went really well and we anticipate that he should be able to make a full recovery for the start of next season,” Cooper said.

Real Salt Lake faces Orlando City SC on Friday night at Rio Tinto Stadium in a nationally-televised match on ESPN (7:30 p.m. MT).
