SANDY, Utah (Thursday, April 28, 2016) – Real Salt Lake announced Thursday that the club has waived MF Adolfo “Fito” Ovalle.
"Following a series of discussions with Fito we have reached the understanding that we cannot fulfill his short term goals, desires, and aspirations. In lieu of this, Real Salt Lake has placed him on waivers,” Real Salt Lake General Manager Craig Waibel said. “We thank him for his contributions to our organization and wish him nothing but the best that the sport has to offer him in the coming years."
Ovalle, 19, signed with RSL as a Homegrown Player on March 6, 2015, and played the 2015 season on loan with Real Monarchs. With the USL club, he played 21 matches, making 16 starts and logging 1,379 minutes. He finished the season with two assists.
